Cognitive Behavior Therapy is widely accepted as an effective treatment of the group of conditions known as Anxiety Disorders.  It is estimated that in total about 18% of the general population suffer from treatable anxiety disorders in any given year.  The Cognitive Behavior Therapy practiced at the Centre for Cognitive Therapy includes a wide variety of cognitive, behavioral and emotional techniques which have been found helpful for treating anxiety.   There are currently 5 major types of Anxiety Disorders. The treatment strategies are tailored to the individual problem and may range from relaxation training and exposure exercises to structured thought records.  Many different cognitive strategies are available to help combat unreasonable anticipation of danger.
